RESTING IN THE HEART by the Rev. Paul Feider is a book that invites people to discover and develop a scriptural way of allowing God’s unconditional love to heal the inner and physical wounds of their lives. It offers a gentle way of coming home to the Love that created them, a love that heals and quenches the deepest human longing. In a very sound yet simple way it uses critical, scriptural scholarship to introduce the reader to the personal, unconditional love that sustained Jesus and empowered His healing ministry. Fr. John Peterson will be leading the study.
Meeting God in Paul - a book by Rowan Williams will be led by Mary Evenson and will be meeting in class rooms adjacent to the Parish Hall.
Bible Study on Understanding - It is not natural to consider things from another’s point of view but it is an important factor in good relationships. A 9-week study includes Keys to Understanding, Empathy, Recognizing and Accepting Differences, Accommodating Others, Being Critical, Discernment, and Understanding and Sensitivity to Others’ Convictions. The group will meet from 9 to 9:50 in the church lounge. Please bring your Bible, a warm heart and a desire for spiritual growth. Jim and Peg Dickson and Gordon Stillings will lead the interactive study.
Gospel of the Day takes place around a table in the Parish Hall. It is an informal discussion of the Gospel of the day as printed in each Sunday bulletin. It is so informal that you are free to merely sit in and listen to the discussion if you prefer. Those attending either the 8 o’clock or 10 o’clock service are welcome to attend, thus providing either a post-sermon or pre-sermon perspective. All are welcome.
The Storm Inside: Do you realize that you are a daughter of the King? You need to live, hope, and dream as if this were true–because it is! You don’t need to be paralyzed with fear, frozen by the chaos you feel inside. Instead, you must choose to stand on the truth of who God says you are. In The Storm Inside, an 8-session, video-based small group Bible study, author Sheila Walsh unpacks the stories of women from the Bible who faced seemingly insurmountable problems–regret, shame, insecurity, and heartbreak. And just like the women from the Bible, you can overcome the lies the enemy uses to torment you. You too can rely on the truth of God’s word so you can stand during the strongest storms of your life. We will start on February 19th at 9 a.m. in the Copy room.
